DMA Taps Monster Exec to Head Interactive Subsidiary

The Direct Marketing Association on Aug. 30 named Michael Aronowitz executive director of its e-commerce subsidiary, the Association for Interactive Marketing (AIM). A former executive for Internet job search site Monster Worldwide, Aronowitz will direct the operations of AIM, which serves interactive marketers and helps promote the future of online marketing. He begins on Sept. 7.

Aronowitz began his career in direct marketing as an account executive at Concepts In Color, a post-production facility specializing in catalogs and in-store circulars. He launched Zmichaels, a New York-based full service direct mail agency, working with such large retail clients as Wal-Mart, Woolworth’s, and Family Dollar, and he later served as president of a Zmichaels offshoot, Saleoutlet.com, an electronic marketing solutions company. In early 2002 Aronowitz joined Monster Worldwide, where he was responsible for the directional interactive leg of monster.com and monstermoving.com.
