FYI: FULFILLMENT: A SONNET

Demand arises early, a prospect to a vendor;
Relentless hunger gnawing at its rest,
The warehouse glitters brightly, replete with trinkets’ splendor,
Replenished, counted, clean, its tidy best.
By noon the buyer’s guesses hit the totes,
And skate wheels sing the merchandiser’s song.
At three the printers spew consumption’s votes,
While packers dance to fill the trailer’s throng.
At five the flow of wares is at its ebb,
The morning’s gleaming pick-fronts left askew;
The docks are closed and all reports are read As night crews ransack bulk for SKUs.
Consumers’ breath each day does thus respire,
Its flawless exhalation our desire.
