F&G’s President/CEO Resigns

Peoria, IL—On June 13, less than week after multititle mailer Foster & Gallagher (F&G) sold its children’s division to 1-800-Flowers, F&G president/CEO Robert A. Ostertag Jr. announced his resignation to pursue other business and personal interests. Ostertag’s successor has not been named. Ostertag will remain a corporate director and continue to work with the F&G board of directors to ensure an orderly transition.

During Ostertag’s nine years with the company, F&G grew from $170 million to $476 million in annual revenue. Ostertag joined Foster & Gallagher as president of the Michigan Bulb Co. catalog and its affiliates in 1992 and is credited with turning the business around. In March 1996, F&G founder Thomas S. Foster chose Ostertag to helm the company. F&G’s catalogs include gifts book Walter Drake and gardening titles Stark Bros. and Breck’s.
