Former vice president buys Comfort Corner

Hudson, NH-based Comfort Corner, which mails the SoftSpots Comfort Corner women’s shoes catalog, was sold on June 28 to its former vice president/general manager Robert Morrison. Lowell Shoe, which had owned the 12-year-old cataloger, decided earlier this year to focus on its wholesale division, which sells to major department stores, shoe stores, and other catalogers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Morrison is now president of Comfort Corner Corp. Other members of the management team include director of operations and purchasing Sharon Torrey, director customer relations and human resources Kristie York, marketing manager Kim Kapala, and accessory buyer and inventory manager Millie Arsenault. Former Herrington catalog executive Paul Brideau has been named controller.

Comfort Corner Corp. will continue to operate from current location until it moves to another facility, also in Hudson, later this year, Morrison said in a statement. The new company will also keep its circulation constant at 10 million catalogs annually. The early fall 2002 catalog will begin mailing as scheduled on July 22.
