New Google+ Dashboard Enhances Online Presence for Businesses

Google announced Google+ dashboard this week which will make it easier for users to “manage your online presence,” according to a recent blog post by Google’s Pavni Diwanji.  Businesses will now be able to connect to their customers in meaningful ways.

According to Diwanji’s post, many of the businesses use Adwords to promote their products, maps to update their store information and YouTube to publish video content.  Google’s initiative with the dashboard is to make it easier to manage online presence across the Google spectrum.

After signing up with a Google+ page, there will now be access to several dashboard features including the ability to update information such as website URLs, store hours, and phone numbers across Maps, Search and Google+  all from the overview lab, according to the blog post.

There will be one place where you will be able to monitor your Google+ notifications, assign page managers, share photos and videos and start a Hangout with followers, according to the blog post.

Local businesses will have an at a glance access to their AdWords Express and Offers campaigns.  They will be able to get insights that include top searches for their businesses, top locations requesting driving directions, and performance data for the Google+ posts.

This the one of many changes Google has made in the last couple of months.  In May, Google announced they would be retiring Google Checkout in November, as the company transitions to Google Wallet, a platform enabling merchants to meet demands of a multi-screen world where consumers shop in-store, as their desks and on their mobile devices.  Google also announced that Google Wallet would be coming to Gmail.
