Columbus, OH–The Limited, parent company of cataloger/retailer Victoria’s Secret, signed a definitive agreement to sell its Lane Bryant retail chain to $1.6 billion holding company Charming Shoppes for $280 million in cash and Charming Shoppes common stock valued at $55 million, subject to customary adjustments. The transaction is expected to close during the third quarter. Charming Shoppes’ properties include the Fashion Bug, Fashion Bug Plus, and Catherine’s Plus Size retail chains.
