Multititle cataloger Hanover Direct (AMEX: HNV), whose titles include plus-size title Silhouettes, home products title Improvements, and linens book Domestications reported a net loss of $4.2 million for the quarter ended Sept. 28. But that’s an improvement on last year’s third-quarter net loss of $6.8 million. Net revenues for the Edgewater, NJ-based cataloger decreased 10%, to $106.0 million, from $117.4 million last year. Hanover attributes the revenue shortfall to reductions in unprofitable circulation and softness in demand primarily related to certain brands.
