If you have been fretting over making a long-term commitment to an Internet access provider, forget about it! Beginning in June, Plano, TX-based Rent-A-Center, Inc. will start offering ‘Net access to its customers through its rentacenter.com Website for as little as $5.99 per week.
Rent-A-Center executives say their research shows that there are thousands of people who are unable to gain access to traditional ISPs because they do not have a strong credit history, credit card, or bank account needed to purchase a computer or pay an ISP.
One assumes, of course, that these same people can afford to rent a computer from Rent-A-Center in order to take advantage of the ISP offer….
