Chinese Laundry’s Omnichannel Integration with Celerant Technology Leads to 20 Percent Drop in Canceled Orders

CHICAGO–()–Renowned shoe brand Chinese Laundry announced today that a channel integration and inventory optimization initiative the company embarked upon with partner Celerant Technology has resulted in a 20 percent drop in canceled orders. The announcement was made on the floor of the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (IRCE) at Chicago’s McCormick Place. IRCE will see over 10,000 attendees including the industry’s most elite online retailers.

Powered by Celerant Technology’s Command Retail platform with integrated e-commerce, every merchandise order and fulfillment is immediately reflected in the system’s inventory management database, giving store managers real-time visibility into available stock.

Earlier this year, Chinese Laundry reported that the launch of new e-commerce and m-commerce sites resulted in a 31% increase in electronic conversions, 54% increase in mobile commerce sales, 50% more productive search pages, and 18% boost to page load times. Omnichannel integration has enabled the company to effectively fill its rapidly expanding online orders while simultaneously improving internal control and generating meaningful reports on the performance of its product lines and SKUs.

“Continued growth in smartphone and tablet shopping is fueling a sharp increase to online sales, and real-time visibility into every order is key to scaling without jeopardizing satisfaction for any customer, whether online or in-store,” said Scott Cohn, VP of E-commerce at Chinese Laundry. “Rapidly changing styles are a natural part of the fashion footwear sector, which really ups the ante on the importance of optimized inventory fulfillment and tracking. Making sure customers can order and receive the merchandise they want when they want it is critical.”

Instantly updated sales data provides Chinese Laundry with insight into how merchandise is selling and what channels sales are originating from, providing the necessary market knowledge to build accurate forecasts. Clear inventory visibility coupled with these forecasts protects retail locations from experiencing out of stocks and sellouts, while providing customers with exact information on what merchandise is readily available. This enables Chinese Laundry to provide shoppers with accurate fulfillment timeframes, resulting in fewer canceled orders.

“The team at Chinese Laundry is brilliant at understanding the market it serves and designing products that its customers are passionate about,” said Ian Goldman, CEO of Celerant Technology. “The level of success they have seen by achieving full omnichannel fulfillment is a testament to the future of retail and the power of small and mid-market players to take the lead in building business models that exceed customer expectations and create operational efficiency.”

Cohn will explain Chinese Laundry’s successful omnichannel integration on site at his workshop entitled “The Grass Is Never Greener on the Other Side of a Technology Integration” tomorrow at 10:30 am at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition (IRCE). Cohn and Celerant executives are on hand throughout the show for comment and interview at Celerant Technology’s booth, #550.
