Ingram Micro Announces New Global Commerce and Fulfillment Strategy

Ingram Micro Commerce & Fulfillment Solutions, a strategic business unit of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) today announced the official launch of its new strategy at ingrammicrocommerce.com, focused on providing brands and retailers with global commerce growth opportunities.

The new focus represents the mission to provide commerce technology and global order fulfillment solutions to connect brands to multi-channel sales opportunities and retailers to unique suppliers. The strategic expansion of capabilities to inlcude commerce solutions is enabled by Ingram Micro’s 154 fulfillment locations around the world, the Shipwire service delivery platform and Ingram Micro’s extensive partner network.

“As we look toward the future of our industry, we are uniquely positioned to help our customers accelerate their growth,” said Ken Beyer, executive vice president, Ingram Micro Commerce and Fulfillment. “Our operational infrastructure remains at the core of our B2B and B2C order fulfillment capabilities, and with the recent acquisition of Docdata, we are continuing our plans for growth in Europe. The addition of our commerce offering is driven by the vast opportunities in the market and the strength of our technology. The flexibility and ease of integration provided by the Shipwire platform, along with our global network of resellers, enables us to provide connections for brands and retailers that may not be available to them otherwise.”

Global consumer ecommerce sales are set to reach $1.5 trillion by 2018, and B2B ecommerce sales are projected to reach over $6 trillion by 2020. With the new portfolio of Commerce Solutions, including Sell Thru Ingram, Sell Thru Retail and Dropship For Retailers; Ingram Micro customers can store inventory wherever their business demands, while making their products available to consumers in more markets. Leveraging the Shipwire platform’s pre-built and custom integration capabilities, merchandise can be sourced and shipped from inventory stored in a customer’s own warehouse, a third-party location, or any of Ingram Micro’s 154 locations. This flexibility enables Ingram Micro customers to reliably sell through multiple channels, including:

  • Ecommerce stores
  • Global marketplaces
  • Retail store networks
  • Flash sales and crowd funding
  • Ingram Micro Catalog

“As our customers continue to face increased demands and competition, Ingram Micro is  committed  to helping them profitably grow their sales while delivering exceptional buyer experiences. Our commerce solutions are designed specifically with our customer’s needs in mind,” said Beyer.

On-demand and custom solutions for B2B retail, B2C ecommerce and B2B ecommerce are available for various product categories through Ingram Micro Commerce & Fulfillment.
