Big Dog Gets Bigger with Walking Co.

Santa Barbara, CA-based apparel cataloger/retailer Big Dog Holdings has agreed to buy $65 million footwear retailer The Walking Co. for more than $15 million in cash, debt, and equity securities.

The Walking Co., which filed for bankruptcy protection last summer, has more than 70 stores. In addition to catalog and wholesale division, Big Dog has 194 stores.
