Equity Firm Buys Edwin Watts Golf

Wellspring Capital Management,

the New York-based private equity firm that owns model-trains maker Lionel and the CCM hockey skates company, has acquired Fort Walton Beach, FL-based Edwin Watts Golf.

Edwin Watts Golf markets through catalogs, the Internet, and 48 company-owned and franchised stores throughout Florida, Alabama, and Massachusetts. Company founders Edwin and Ronnie Watts will remain with the company, as will the rest of the management team.
