Healthcare products and services provider Henry Schein has promoted Mark Mastroianni to director of marketing communications and programs in the company's medical division; Rich Miranda was promoted to the newly created position of vice president, North America planning and development; and Michael Helig was promoted to president, medical division in Europe. Henry Schein also hired Susan Wong as vice president of compensation and benefits. Most recently, Wong was a vice president at Avaya.

J.C. Penney Co. announced that Javier G. Teruel has joined its board of directors. Until his retirement last year, Teruel had been with Colgate-Palmolive for 35 years, serving most recently as vice chairman.

Lifetime Brands has appointed Jeffrey Berman as president-retail direct. Berman, who had been general manager of J&R Music and Computer World, will oversee the operations of the Internet and catalog segments of Lifetime Brands' direct-to-consumer business.

Fleetwood, PA-based men's apparel merchant Paul Fredrick has promoted Jill Smith to vice president of creative services. Smith previously served as creative director for the company.

Lynnette Montgomery has joined High Point, NC-based Graphik Dimensions Ltd., parent company of PictureFrames.com, as vice president of marketing. Montgomery, who had been vice president of e-commerce of Levenger Co., will oversee merchandising, creative, analytics, multichannel marketing, and public relations.

Hingham, MA-based Talbots has hired Lori Wagner as new chief marketing officer. Wagner, who most recently served as chief marketing officer of Cole Haan's Nike division, will oversee all advertising, catalog development, and direct marketing for Talbots.

Celebrate Express, a Kirkland, WA-based online and catalog retailer of celebration products, has hired Harold Egler as vice president, marketing. Egler had served as global vice president, customer intelligence, for Getty Images.
