During a recent one-on-one interview with Multichannel Merchant, Jenkins said there are several steps merchants can take to compete with technology savvy brands such as Amazon, when it comes to making sales and fulfilling inventory both in-store and online.
Jenkins said retailers need to update their systems for the ecommerce age and the converging of various channels. He said retailers need to leverage things like advanced fulfillment so they can take advantage of their footprint with their retail locations and various distribution centers.
Delivering the omnichannel promise, according to Jenkins, is providing sales associates in the store with the tools they need to save the sale.
