Record Results for CDW

Vernon Hills, IL-based computer reseller CDW Corp. (Nasdaq: CDWC) turned in a record-setting performance in 2007. In the fourth quarter, sales soared 17%, to $2.13 billion compared with $1.82 billion in the fourth quarter of 2006. Average daily sales in the fourth quarter of 2007 were $33.86 million, compared with $28.95 million in the fourth quarter of 2006.

For 2007, total sales rose 20%, to $8.14 billion compared with $6.78 billion in 2006. Average daily sales for 2007 were $32.06 million compared with $26.71 million in 2006.

In May 2007 CDW announced that it agreed to be bought by private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners for approximately $7.3 billion. “These sales results reflect the exceptional work of our coworkers during a year of transition for CDW,” said chairman/CEO John A. Edwardson in a release.

“While CDW was being acquired in a go-private transaction with affiliates of Madison Dearborn Partners and Providence Equity Partners, our coworkers continued to prove they are the best team in the industry by staying focused, gaining market share and providing the best customer service in the industry.”
