Retailers Need to Step Up Their Shipping Game this Holiday

Consumers say that shipping remains a major factor when it comes to making a purchase and it is imperative for merchants to focus on managing shipping costs and the returns processes in order to ensure a happy customer this holiday season.

A recent report from Pitney Bowes has found that 80% of Americans said when looking at the overall shopping experience, shipping options are considered “very important” compared to 2010. In fact, according to the report, nearly 50% of Americans have abandoned a shopping purchase due to the shipping cost alone.

So what can merchants do to keep the customer happy and secure the sale? According to this infographic from Pitney Bowes, it’s all about offering free shipping and fast delivery with a nominal fee.
