Salt Lake City-based Mrs. Fields Famous Brands announced that Greg Berglund has joined the company as president of Mrs. Fields Gifts, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Berglund had been senior vice president/general manager of Disney Direct Marketing Services, as well as vice president of marketing for Cornerstone Brands.

Lanham, MD-based database marketing firm Merkle has hired Rick Burgess as vice president of talent acquisition. Burgess was a managing partner of the executive search firm Kaye/Bassman International Corp.

San Francisco-based Design Within Reach promoted vice president of merchandising Tara Poseley to president/CEO. Poseley replaces Wayne Badovinus, who will continue to serve on Design Within Reach's board of directors and will assume the role of chairman from John Hansen, who will remain on the board. New York-based online discounter Bluefly.com hired Brad Matson as chief marketing officer. Matson joins Bluefly from Spiegel Catalog, where he served as senior vice president of advertising and brand communications.

Chef's Catalog, a Colorado Springs, CO-based cookware merchant, named Chris Bridge senior vice president of merchandising and purchasing. Bridge spent 13 years with Williams-Sonoma, most recently as director and divisional merchandise manager for the retail food division.
