Warren, PA-based apparel and home products cataloger Blair Corp. appointed Cynthia Fields to its board of directors. Fields, currently president of catalog/retail consultancy CFC, was previously CEO of Victoria’s Secret Catalog.

Melville, NY-based medical, dental, and veterinary supplies cataloger Henry Schein named Anthony Providenti deputy general counsel. He was previously a senior corporate associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He will be involved with all aspects of the company’s legal affairs, including mergers and acquisitions.

Edgewater, NJ-based multititle mailer Hanover Direct appointed Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and David Brown to its board of directors. Sonnenfeld is associate dean for executive programs at Yale University’s school of management, and Brown is a managing director of executive recruiter Whitehead Mann.

Delray Beach, FL-based office supplies cataloger/retailer Office Depot promoted Rob Vale, formerly senior vice president of the company’s business services division-Europe, to senior vice president of European operations. Wim Van Aalst, formerly vice president of supply chain-Europe, has been promoted to senior vice president.

Framingham, MA-based office supplies cataloger/retailer Staples hired Michael Miles as chief operating officer. Miles was previously COO of Pizza Hut. Staples also has promoted Theo van Brandenburg to president of its European retail business.

Airgas, a Radnor, PA-based industrial and medical supplies cataloger, announced that William Albertini was elected to a two-year term on its board of directors, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of John Shober. Albertini formerly served as executive vice president/chief financial officer of Bell Atlantic Wireless.

Planet Dog, a Portland, ME-based manufacturer/marketer of pet accessories, hired Heidi Hoffman as warehouse specialist. Hoffman was previously shipping and receiving manager for Maine Restaurant Equipment.

Chicago-based integrated services provider RR Donnelley promoted John Campanelli from president of RR Donnelley Logistics to president of the company’s print business. He will be responsible for overseeing magazine, book, telephone directory, catalog/retail insert printing, and pre-media services. Replacing Campanelli as head of RR Donnelley Logistics is William McLennan, previously chief operating officer.

New York-based list firm Adrea Rubin Management appointed Bill Larason sales manager working on the Fingerhut account. Larason was previously vice president of marketing at MKTG Services.

New York-based cataloger/direct marketing services company Alloy appointed John Glascott executive vice president of sales for 360 Youth, the media/youth marketing division of the company. Glascott was previously east region vice president for Yahoo!

San Antonio, TX-based marketing services company Harte-Hanks appointed Chris Stam managing director, direct marketing for its consumer teleservices operations. Stam was previously a call/contact center manager at Applied Card Systems and InsLogic. He will be responsible for call centers in Vineland, NJ, and Clearwater, FL, as well as for the company’s teleservices consulting team in Langhorne, PA.

Bethel, CT-based List Services Corp. appointed Allen Duchesneau senior vice president, national sales manager. Duchesneau was previously chief operating officer at Brand Direct. The list company also named Kathy Klanchich marketing manager in its list management division. Klanchich was previously list and package insert manager at Trilegiant Corp.

Rye, NY-based list firm Lake Group Media appointed Belkys Reyes sales director within its list management division. Reyes was previously vice president of list management at MKTG Services.

San Diego-based online marketing analytics/optimization company WebSideStory appointed Rand Schulman chief marketing officer. Schulman was previously director of the WebTrends Web analytics product line for NetIQ.

Menasha, WI-based printing/supply chain management services provider Banta Corp. appointed Paul Reyelts to its board of directors. Reyelts is senior vice president/chief financial officer of The Valspar Corp.

Garden City, NY-based Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association appointed Linda Ferruzzi president. Currently senior account executive at May Development Services, Ferruzzi will be responsible for expanding the association’s efforts at professional education and advocacy for the nonprofit community.

Big Sandy, TX-based publishing/printing/fulfillment services company Strategic Fulfillment Group has appointed Marge Evans vice president of marketing. Evans previously sold services for Palm Coast Data. Evans will be responsible for sales in the New York area. The company also announced that it had appointed Jeff Thorpe chief operating officer. Thorpe was previously senior vice president at Palm Coast Data.

Wayne, PA-based database/list services company CPC Associates has appointed Gwen Benson national account manager for its new resident division. Benson had been regional sales manager for Welcome Wagon.

Ventura, CA-based list firm AccuList USA promoted Mark Sherman from vice president of marketing to director of list management. Sherman will be responsible for acquiring and developing managed lists and promoting them to both mailers and other channels.

Saqqara Systems, a San Jose, CA-based catalog management software and services provider, has hired Mike Neal as chief technology officer. Most recently, Neal was chief technology officer with Requisite Technology.

Wakefield, MA-based CRM technology and database marketing services provider BeNow appointed Phil McAvoy senior vice president of the catalog group, and Phil Kramer senior vice president of its agency marketing practice. McAvoy was founder/principal of PJM Associates. Kramer was previously vice president of database marketing at Grand Circle Travel.

Rye, NY-based gifts and home decor cataloger Lillian Vernon Corp. has named Alyce Goodman executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. Goodman, previously executive vice president of merchandising for Ballard Designs catalog in Atlanta, will be responsible for all merchandising, product development, sourcing, and creative services. Weehawken, NJ-based list management/brokerage ClientLogic Specialists Marketing Services appointed Dean Barile director of its alternative media management division. Barile was previously vice president of the alternative media management division at Mokrynski & Associates. He will be responsible for sales and development of alternative response media programs.

Downers Grove, IL-based apparel and home furnishings cataloger/retailer The Spiegel Group promoted Richard Mozack from vice president of application development to vice president and chief information officer. Mozack will be responsible for all of the information systems application development, technical services, and network services.

Woolrich, PA-based outdoor clothing cataloger Woolrich appointed Bruce Heggenstaller to its board of directors. Heggenstaller, currently vice president operations/distribution and director of consumer sales for the company, supervised the launch of the company’s full e-commerce Website in 1999 and its direct consumer catalog in 2000.

Delray Beach, FL-based customer analytical software provider Ecometry promoted Les Johnson from director of sales services to vice president. He will be responsible for bringing new customers live on the company’s software, migrating existing customers to new platforms, and delivering consulting and training services.

Menasha, WI-based printing and supply chain management services provider Banta Corp. appointed Geoffrey Hibner chief financial officer. Hibner was previously a principal with Bridge Associates. He will be responsible for accelerating the company’s growth while maintaining its financial health.

The Chicago Association of Direct Marketing (CADM) has named Kelly Abeles its 49th president. Other officers are vice president Michelle Blechman, vice president-strategic planner, Grey Direct; secretary-treasurer Joseph DeCosmo, president, DeCosmo and Associates.
