He was previously a senior corporate associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He will be involved with all aspects of the company’s legal affairs, including mergers and acquisitions.
Edgewater, NJ-based multititle mailer Hanover Direct appointed Jeffrey Sonnenfeld and David Brown to its board of directors. Sonnenfeld is associate dean for executive programs at Yale University’s school of management, and Brown is a managing director of executive recruiter Whitehead Mann.
Delray Beach, FL-based office supplies cataloger/retailer Office Depot promoted Rob Vale, formerly senior vice president of the company’s business services division-Europe, to senior vice president of European operations. Wim Van Aalst, formerly vice president of supply chain-Europe, has been promoted to senior vice president.

Chicago-based integrated services provider RR Donnelley promoted John Campanelli from president of RR Donnelley Logistics to president of the company’s print business. He will be responsible for overseeing magazine, book, telephone directory, catalog/retail insert printing, and pre-media services. Replacing Campanelli as head of RR Donnelley Logistics is William McLennan, previously chief operating officer.
