Responsys Acquires INBOX Marketing

Email and lifecycle marketing solution provider Responsys announced Feb. 3 that it acquired INBOX Marketing, a San Francisco-based agency that specializes in the strategic optimization of email marketing platforms.

As part of the transaction, Responsys CEO Dan Springer said the company would maintain INBOX’s San Francisco office of INBOX Marketing, and that its executive team will assume leadership roles in the professional services organization at Responsys. INBOX president Jerome McLaughlin will become VP/Professional Services and Barry Stamos will assume the role of Senior Director of Strategy.

INBOX Marketing brings to Responsys a team of experienced marketing strategists, program architects, interactive designers, developers, and executive management, which the company said will be charged with supporting and expanding Responsys’ professional services business.

“The INBOX acquisition brings to Responsys greater focus on ensuring customer ROI and an expanded set of capabilities for leveraging the Responsys Interact platform to the fullest,” Springer said in a statement. “The superior strength of our combined solution further solidifies our leadership position in the email marketing industry.”

Responsys, a privately held Redwood City, CA-based company, did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
