Sun Capital Partners, a Boca Raton, FL-based private investment firm, has acquired an equity interest in Oshkosh, WI-based multititle cataloger Miles Kimball Co.

Former Good Catalog log executive Bill Nicolai is missing his first Catalog Conference in years-but with good reason. Nicolai, who left Good Catalog last year, two years after Reader’s Digest’s purchase of the company, is building his retreat on the private, one-acre island he owns off the Vancouver, BC, coast.

New York-based database compiler Prefer Network has formed a strategic alliance with St. Paul, MN-based marketing and list-processing services provider Catalog Marketing Services. The two companies are combining to offer a new low-cost database to work off the existing Prefer database.
