Beauty retailer Ulta Beauty announced on June 24 the appointment of Mary Dillon as its new CEO and member of the Board of Directors effective July 1, according to a press release.  Dillon will replace interim CEO Dennis K. Eck who will step down from his position at that time.

In February, Eck replaced Chuck Rubin who stepped down as president and CEO at Ulta Beauty.   Rubin went on to take the CEO role at Michaels Stores.   At Michaels, Rubin replaced John Menzer, who resigned in July due to medical reasons.

Dillon was president, CEO and a director of U.S. Cellular since 2010.  She led U.S. Cellular to develop new channels, distribution and revenue initiatives, implement an omnichannel strategy and strengthen ecommerce platforms.
