When does it make sense for a company to engage in same-day delivery? We caught up with Jason Acevedeo, senior director ecommerce operations at Limited Stores, at Operations Summit 2016.
Acevedo said key factors to consider are your customers’ expectations, whether or not you’re selling a commodity item that’s easily replaceable from a competitor, and the demographics and geographic locations (think urban millennials) of your core audience.
“So it comes down to doing your due diligence, figuring out what clients expect and then determining what the suite of services are you need to execute against that,” Acevedo said. “But Amazon is really pushing the bar for all of us, so it’s important to stay relevant and ensure you’re on top of what customers really need and want.”
