Mobile Transactions Fuel 52% Increase in Cyber Monday Sales

With shoppers increasingly using mobile devices to make purchases,  Shopatron saw an increase in its Cyber Monday sales of 52% over the 2012 holiday season, according to a press release by Shopatron.

This included a record number of mobile transactions accounting for 20% of the Cyber Monday order volume, a 54% increase over 2012, according to a press release by  Shopatron.

“Shoppers are always on the hunt for a deal, and now that they are connected 24/7 via their mobile devices, they can find these deals and act on them immediately,” according to  Shopatron.

According to Shopatron data, mobile transactions were up 73% over the last year in the five days leading up to Cyber Monday – and there was a 55% increase in tablet transactions.  Mobile is now more than just a tool for showrooming; it is a primary means of using the internet.

Promotional strategies remained an important piece of Cyber Monday sales, with 46% of Shopatron manufactuerer orders being tied to a promotion.

Thirty-seven percent of Shopatron Manufacturer Orders were tied to a free shipping offer.
