Williams-Sonoma Savors Summer with Shoppable Videos

Williams-Sonoma and Visa Checkout announced a partnership that allows videos to be shoppable using a new technology from YouTube, which is now live on the Williams-Sonoma website.  This partnership includes the launch of a four-part video series called “Time to Savor Summer.”

Viewers can buy showcased products by clicking directly from the video. Williams-Sonoma will be one of the first brands to use the YouTube Technology.

“The seamless integration with Visa Checkout streamlines the checkout process, making it even faster and easier for our customers to purchase our products,” said Chrissy Ginieczki, vice-president of ecommerce operation at Williams-Sonoma.

The videos were created in partnership with Tastemade, a global food lifestyle network for digital platforms, and hand-selected influencers who will offer tips and must-have products for hosting summer parties.

Through Visa Checkout, Williams-Sonoma online customers can purchase everything they need within the videos to recreate the perfect party at home.

A new report from comScore found that Visa Checkout shoppers convert to online buyers at a rate of 70% and that enrolled Visa Checkout customers were 66% more likely to complete a transaction than customer who must enter billing and card information in the traditional online checkout path.

Ginieczki said the videos show viewers how to take the stress out of party planning and commerce enabled visual experiences allows Williams-Sonoma to share new  ideas and inspiration while making it easy for a customer to find the products they need and make those party planning ideas a reality either at home or on the go.

“Our focus right now is on the launch of summer, which is when we will be rolling out our four-part “Time to Savor Summer” shoppable video series on both Williams-Sonoma and Visa YouTube channels,” said Ginieczki.

Ginieczki said with Visa Checkout, viewers don’t have to spend additional time entering their billing and shipping information, so they can purchase what they want in a few clicks and get back to planning their party.

As part of the partnership, Williams-Sonoma is offering customers $10 off their next Williams-Sonoma.com purchase of $100 or more when they pay with Visa Checkout through July 31.
