The Akadine Press, which did business as A Common Reader catalog, filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.

A publisher as well as a direct marketer of books, Akadine was founded in 1986 by James Mustich Jr. The Pleasantville, NY-based company's inventory, furnishings, and customer list were scheduled to be autioned off on Feb. 22. The holiday 2005 catalog was the company's last; its Website has been blank since late January.
