Adobe: Thanksgiving Day Ecommerce Sales Break $1 Billion Barrier

For the first time, Thanksgiving Day became a $1 billion ecommerce sales day as predicted by Adobe.  Actual sales came in at $1.062 billion, according to the Adobe analysis based on 180 million visits to more than 1,000 U.S. retail websites.

Adobe said 20.9% of all ecommerce dollars were spent via mobile devices, which is also a new record. $152 million spent via tablets, while $70 million via smartphones. In terms of devices, Adobe said iPad was tops. $130 million of online sales came from Apple’s tablet while iPhone devices drove $40 million. In comparison Android phones drove $35 million, Android tablets $15 million in online sales.
