Urban Outfitters said it plans to relocate its Trenton, SC ecommerce fulfillment center to Gap, PA. Construction of the new 1 million square foot facility, twice as large as the existing one, is on schedule to be complete by July and will employ 500.

FedEx plans to expand its Palmetto, FL distribution center, increasing the footprint of its 123,000-square-foot facility by about 30%, to meet increasing ecommerce demand.

Auto parts distributor Uni-Select Inc. has opened a new regional distribution center in Avon, MA. The 104,000-square-foot facility will service New England and eastern New York and employ 70.

Walmart is reportedly considering Davenport, FL and Winter Haven, FL for a new ecommerce fulfillment center, although the company is not commenting on a published report.

FedEx opened a new distribution center at the Central Illinois Regional Airport outside Bloomington, IL.

Rite Aid plans to close its Charlotte, SC distribution center, which employs about 350, and open a new $90 million facility in Spartanburg, SC. The company is consolidating its Charlotte distribution operations with centers in West Virginia and Alabama.

Office Depot plans to close its distribution center in Hazleton, PA, part of its consolidation after merging with OfficeMax in 2013. Earlier this month, Staples announced plans to acquire Office Depot for $6.3 billion.

Logistics and fulfillment company Moulton Fulfillment has taken a 172,000-square-foot space in a 1.2 million-square-foot South Brunswick, NJ distribution center.
