AmeriMark in an Acquiring Frame of Mind

Cleveland-based AmeriMark Direct is on the hunt. The multititle mailer, which mails Anthony Richards, Beauty Boutique, Healthy Living, and Time for Me, among other women’s apparel, accessories and gifts titles, has retained Boston-based investment bank Tully & Holland to help it find another catalog to add to its stable. Stuart Rose, a managing director at Tully & Holland, says AmeriMark is seeking a catalog that targets the same customer base as its existing titles: middle-income, middle-American women.

“AmeriMark wants to leverage its sizable database, direct marketing expertise, and financial resources,” Rose says. “We are targeting a broad range of health and beauty, shoes, jewelry, nonseasonal gift, and general merchandise categories. Given its financial resources, AmeriMark is flexible in the size of the catalog. We have a comprehensive search range of $5 million-$150 million.”

Last year JH Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm, bought a 75% share of AmeriMark.
