Broder Bros. Buys $40 Million Distributor

Imprintable sportswear distributor Broder Bros. announced Thursday it acquired “substantially” all the assets of Amtex Imports, a Northlake, IL-based competitor. Trevose, PA-based Broder Bros. paid approximately $6.8 million and acquired approximately $4.5 million in net working capital.

According to a statement, the acquisition of Amtex will facilitate Broder Bros.’ expansion into the Chicago market. Broder Bros. has leased a 425,000-sq.-ft. facility in Chicago, which will serve as a multibranded distribution center. Amtex is a single-location distributor with approximately $40 million in annual revenue and approximately 40 employees.
