Brown-Forman to Explore” Strategic Alternatives” for Lenox

Louisville, KY-based Brown-Forman Corp. says its exploring “strategic alternatives,” including a sale, for its Lenox subsidiary. A manufacturer/marketer of china, crystal, and collectibles, Lenox distributes its products to resellers as well as sells directly to consumers via its Lenox Collection catalog and Website. In addition to the namesake brand, Lenox produces the Dansk, Gorhan, Kirk Stieff, and Brooks & Bentley brands of tableware and gifts.

Brown-Forman has retained Goldman, Sachs & Co. to advise in the exploration of strategic alternatives. Cavendish Corporate Finance in London will play a similar role regarding Lenox’s U.K. operations. Brown-Forman’s other brands are primarily beverages, including Jack Daniel’s, Southern Comfort, Finlandia Vodka, Canadian Mist, and Korbel California Champagnes.
