CDW posts record quarterly sales

Vernon Hills, IL-based CDW Computer Centers (Nasdaq: CDWC) reported record quarterly revenue, with sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30 topping out at $1.15 billion. That’s a 16% rise from sales of $991.1 million for the third quarter of last year. Net income jumped 27%, to $54.9 million from $43.2 million last year.

Corporate sales increased 12%, to $869.1 million. Public sector sales rose 32%, to $281.8 million. The cataloger says that sales of Microsoft products were a significant contributor to financial results due to the July 31 deadline for the sale of Microsoft’s Upgrade Advantage products.

CDW is projecting sales for the fourth quarter $1.065 billion-$1.090 billion, representing growth of 7%-10% from last year. It also projects a 6%-10% rise in fourth-quarter earnings per share.
