CMS Buys Prefer Network

St. Paul, MN–List processing services provider Catalog Marketing Services (CMS) on Sept. 28 bought The Prefer Network, an Internet-based catalog co-op database. Plans call for both companies to continue to operate independently while continuing the joint product development they started in a strategic alliance in June. CMS provides strategic and tactical marketing and intelligent list processing services, while Prefer helps member catalogers choose prospect names and reactivate house names. Prefer CEO Doug Platt and president Rick Black will retain their roles in Prefer’s New York offices.
