Bad move, dude! Ben Curtis, the 22-year-old actor and current NYU drama student who gained fame as Dell Computer’s pitch “dude,” was busted for buying a small bag of marijuana on Feb. 9 on New York’s Lower East Side, according to an Associated Press report. The actor, who in his “Steven” character seen in Dell catalogs and TV commercials, says, “Dude, yer gettin’ a Dell,” reportedly spurred sales of not only PCs for Dell, but also T-shirts, caps, and backpacks, the AP report says.
A native of Chattanooga, TN, Curtis was arraigned in criminal court in New York, and Judge Ellen Coin told the Dell dude that his case would be dismissed and record expunged if he avoids arrest over the next year.
