Under Armour has started to hire managers for its distribution center being built in Mt. Juliet, TN. The facility is on track to open in early 2016 and the company has committed to employing 1,500 workers over five years.

Radio Shack announcing it would be closing its distribution center in Woodland, CA after 30 years effective March 6, affecting 57 workers.

Amazon’s new $250 million distribution center has opened in Kenosha, WI. The two buildings, totaling over 1.5 million square feet, will eventually employ 575 employees.

Kmart’s distribution center in Greensboro, NC will close in the next few months. About 130 workers will be affected.

FedEx Ground plans to open a new hub in Ocala, FL. as part of an ongoing national expansion plan. The new hub will employ 350 and will process 15,000 packages per hour, with the capacity to process 45,000 packages per hour if needed. Plans call for completion in August 2016.

FreshDirect has broken ground on a new 500,000-square-foot distribution center and corporate headquarter in Bronx, NY, outlasting years of lawsuits, political wrangling and protests by neighborhood residents. It is slated to open in 2016.

Mattress manufacturer Kingsdown Inc. plans to open a new factory and distribution center in Waco, TX, this month, taking over a 100,000-square-foot former U.S. Postal Service sorting center.
