DMA may buy DMDNY

(Direct Newsline) The Direct Marketing Association is in talks to acquire DMDNY, producer of Direct Marketing Days in New York, and may be the sole remaining bidder, sources said.

DMA president H. Robert Wientzen and DMDNY executives declined comment on legal grounds.

The purchase would give the DMA a strong spring conference and enable the association to avoid scheduling conflicts with its other events. There is no word on where the DMA will obtain financing.

Several other players were in earlier talks to acquire DMDNY.
