Double-Digit Sales, Income Growth for Schein
Third-quarter sales at Melville, NY-based Henry Schein, a distributor of medical, dental, and veterinary supplies, rose 13%, to $1.27 billion for the three months ended Sept. 30. Net income soared 70%, to $39.3 million from $23.3 million for the previous third quarter.
Cabela’s 3Q Income Slides
Third-quarter direct sales for outdoor sporting gear merchant Cabela’s increased nearly 5%, to $232.2 million for the three months ended Sept. 30. Total third-quarter revenue for the Sidney, NE-based cataloger/retailer rose 14%, to a record $490.5 million. Same-store sales grew 3%. Nonetheless, net income for the quarter fell from $16.3 million a year ago to $15.0 million.
