Victoria’s Secret direct sales up 13%

Fourth-quarter sales at Columbus, OH-based Limited Brands, which mails the Victoria’s Secret women’s apparel catalog, hit $2.97 billion, up from $2.83 billion the previous year. Combined catalog and retail sales for Victoria’s Secret rose to $1.3 billion from $1.2 billion for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2001. Victoria’s Secret Direct sales increased 13%, to $301.4 from $265.8 million. In addition to Victoria’s Secret, Limited Brands includes Bath & Body Works, Express, White Barn Candle Co., and Henri Bendel.

Direct sales up 26% at Restoration Hardware Cataloger/retailer Restoration Hardware (Nasdaq: RSTO) posted a 6% increase in fourth-quarter net sales. For the three months ended Feb. 1, sales totaled $153.4 million, compared with $144.4 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2001. Fourth-quarter sales for the direct-to-customer division of the Corte Madera, CA-based home furnishings company increased 26%.

For the 52 weeks ended Feb. 1, net sales were $398.6 million, up 9% from $366.5 million for fiscal 2001. Sales for the direct-to-customer division increased 33%, while comparable store sales increased 6%.

Urban Outfitters Reports Record Fourth-Quarter Sales Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters, which mails the Anthropologie women’s apparel catalog, posted a 13% increase in fourth-quarter sales, to $117.8 million from $103.9 million for fiscal 2001. Direct-to-consumer sales, which includes catalogs, increased 22%, to $9.6 million from $7.9 million.
