Laboratory equipment manufacturer/marketer Fisher Scientific International has agreed to acquire Sweden’s Perbio Science AB for $714 million, in a bid to enhance its life-science business. Two-thirds of Perbio’s sales and operating income are conducted in North America, according to a Fisher statement.
Under the terms of the arrangement, a newly formed Swedish unit of the Hampton, NH-based Fisher will make a tender offer for Perbio shares at a price of 142.5 Swedish crowns per share, and for certain warrants at 93.5 crowns.
Perbio manufactures cell-culture and bioresearch products, and although it is based in Sweden, its main operations are in the U.S.
