Frontgate, a high-end cataloger of home and garden products, is set to open its first store on Nov. 19 in an Atlanta shopping mall. According to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 12-year-old company, which is one of the prized jewels of catalog conglomerate Cornerstone Brands’ stable, Frontgate has built up a customer database of 2.5 million. The cataloger, which has 40,000 Atlanta area customers, according to the Journal-Constitution report, was drawn to the city for its strong and steady catalog sales there.
Cornerstone Brands was launched in 1995 with Frontgate as one of its first titles. The others include Ballard Designs, Garnet Hill, Smith & Noble, The Territory Ahead, and TravelSmith.
