Pleasantville, NY—, the online gifts division of Reader’s Digest Association and parent unit of Good Catalog Co., on June 6 signed with RichFX, a creator of online visual merchandising presentations, to use 3-D on its Website.

To test the effectiveness of RichFX 3-D in increasing sales, sent an e-mail with a link to the RichFX 3-D presentation of a Mother’s Day pendant 50,000 customers. To another 50,000 customers, sent an e-mail with a link to a static 2-D image of the pendant. The group receiving the 3-D link was three times as likely to purchase the product as the group that received the 2-D link, according to RichFX.
