Henry Schein Buying German Dental Supplier

Firming up its presence in the German dental market, Melville, NY-based Henry Schein has agreed to buy the dental distribution operations of Duisburg, Germany-based Hager Dental. The all-cash deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, is expected to close within 30 days.

Henry Schein expects the acquisition to add $0.01-$0.02 to the second half of 2003 diluted earnings per share. The cataloger of medical, dental, and veterinary supplies has operations in 14 countries outside of North America.
