How would you describe your job and what you do?
Both top level strategic direction of the company as well as review details of merchandising, circulation and marketing promotions.
Why do you think you were chosen to be an MCM Awards judge?
Decades of experience in managing over 40 different catalog titles in virtually all consumer product areas. The main difference between is a gem and a dud is: does it speak or relate directly and simply to the targeted customer. Fancy and complicated do not work
What direct marketing subject could you talk about all day?
Almost anything–merchandising, creative, promotions, copy, managing people, selecting and buying other d.m. companies.
What excites you most outside the office?
my two beautiful granddaughters.
What was your first job?
Working in my father’s candy store. What a great job for a kid.
In high school, I was:
Class Valedictorian, plus the last man on the varisity basketball team (#12 out of 12).
