Live from eTail 2005: Levenger Chief Gets Bookish

Palm Desert, CA–Not content with providing “tools for serious readers,” Delray Beach, FL-based marketer is now offering people something to read: Levenger president/CEO Steve Leveen has written his first book. Titled “The Little Guide to Your Well-Read Life,” the book was published by the company’s eight-year-old publishing division, Levenger Press, and is scheduled to be released in May. Leveen said he was inspired to write the book after constantly hearing from Levenger customers that they don’t have enough time to read. The book is an offshoot of Leveen’s online column on reading titled “Living Your Well-Read Life.” Levenger is also launching an online literary community Website, Wellreadlife.com, which includes articles, information on events such as author book signings, and books published by Levenger Press. Leveen says the company will be able use Wellreadlife.com to leverage Levenger products and events. For instance, the company frequently brings authors to the bookstore at its location. It can use the information site to publish content such as exclusive interviews with featured authors. Founded by Leveen and his wife, Lori, Levenger mailed its first catalog in 1990. In addition to the catalog, the Website, and the Delray Beach store, Levenger operates two stores in Chicago–both located in Marshall Fields department stores–and one in Boston.
