Madonna Replaces Two Spiegel Execs

You can’t tell the players without a scorecard, indeed. In the latest news from flailing cataloger/retailer Spiegel Group, Geralynn Madonna was named president/CEO of Spiegel Catalog and women’s apparel title Newport News on March 14. She had been president/chief operating officer of Newport News.

Madonna replaces Spiegel Catalog president/CEO Melissa Payner and Newport News chairman/CEO George Ittner. According to a company release, Payner and Ittner have resigned to pursue other interests. Ittner will provide consulting services to the company, however.

“Geralynn has been a key member of The Spiegel Group team for many years,” William Kosturos, chief restructuring officer and interim CEO of The Spiegel Group said in a statement. “I have great confidence in Geralynn’s ability to provide reinvigorated and refocused leadership for both Spiegel Catalog and Newport News.”
