Mark, Fore & Strike catalog closing

Citing disappointing sales, The Mark Group is folding its Mark, Fore & Strike catalog to concentrate on its Boston Proper title. Although both books sell women’s apparel, Boston Proper caters to a more fashion-forward, younger customer and sells primarily private-label clothing.

“Our objective is to build Boston Proper into a premier national brand in the next few years,” Mark Group CEO Michael Tiernan said in a statement. The company is looking to expand the women’s apparel catalog into retail.

The Boca Raton, FL-based Mark Group will continue to operate its 12 Mark, Fore & Strike stores. The company also mails gifts and home décor catalog Charles Keath. It expects total annual sales of more than $120 million this year.
