Mark Group Launches Boston Proper Sport

Boca Raton, FL-based multititle mailer The Mark Group is launching a spin-off of its flagship Boston Proper women’s apparel catalog. Titled Boston Proper Sport, the new catalog is the first in what will be a series of specialty books from the company, which also mails the Charles Keath gifts catalog. The Mark Group planned to mail 1.2 million copies of the 76-page Boston Proper Sport on Dec. 21 to arrive in homes after the first of the year.

“You build on your winners,” says Skip Hartzell, executive vice president/chief creative Internet officer for The Mark Group. “Naturally you give your customers more of the same. Most of the mailing went to existing Boston Proper customers who bought sports-related apparel. Boston Proper customers are very active and fitness-minded.”

The catalog sells workout wear, yoga apparel, swimwear, golf and tennis clothes, and other sports-related items. In addition to house-brand clothing, it sells apparel from DKNY, Anne Klein, Ralph Lauren, and A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz.
