NCOF Sneak Peak: Communicate to Boost Performance

NCOF Sneak Peak: Communicate to Boost Performance Endless talk about “communication” may be a mainstay of day-time talk shows and Dr. Phil, but companies that embrace improve their communication tactics can improve performance and efficiency, Nanuet, NY-based operations consultant George Mollo. In fact, he’ll be leading a session entitled “Breaking Down the Silos: Communicating Information to Achieve Better Results” at this year’s National Conference on Operations & Fulfillment (NCOF), April 10-12 in Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL.

Among the communication improvements that Mollo suggests: Provide the contact center with a top 20 backorder list. Include detailed information such as “We’ll be getting 500 red sweaters in next Tuesday.” “Providing that level of detail in the contact center,” Mollo says, “makes your CSRs that much more knowledgeable. It’s powerful.”

Mollo’s tips aren’t just limited to the contact center. For instance, he advises ensuring that the SKU forecasting report is linked to the distribution center so that the DC can allot sufficient space and efficient slotting.

“The only conference for direct-to-consumer operations and fulfillment management,” NCOF is presented by MULTICHANNEL MERCHANT/O+F and the DMA. For information and to register, visit www.ncof.com.
