Revival Animal Is Now for the Birds

Pet supplies cataloger Revival Animal Health is expanding its presence in the bird market. It acquired Great Companions, a cataloger specializing in supplies for pet birds, on March 29. Revival expects the acquisition to boost its revenue by 10%.

Revival sells primarily dog and cat products, including its own line of nutritional supplements under the Doc Roy brand. Great Companions has its own proprietary line of food and supplements — “and in fact we hope to expand the Great Companions brand into products for other animals,” Roy Nielsen, Revival’s owner/president, said in a statement.

Great Companions’ inventory and customer service operations were being moved from Warren, MI, to Revival’s Orange City, IA, headquarters. The transition was expected to be completed by May 1.

The acquisition isn’t the only expansion effort Revival has undertaken lately. The company recently added a department whose account executives will handle sales to large dog breeders nationwide.
