Sharper Image Launches International Websites

San Francisco–Upscale gifts and gadgets marketer Sharper Image has launched online stores for the U.K. and the European Union. The sites, which can be accessed via the U.S. Website, accept payment in euros and British pounds.

Merchandise sold on the international sites is distributed from a warehouse in The Netherlands and has been adapted for use throughout continental Europe and the U.K. The company’s U.S. site, which launched in 1995, had sales of $60.2 million in 2000, up 111% from $28.5 million in 1999.
