Smith + Noble to Fold Rug Studio Title

Corona, CA-based home decor products cataloger Smith + Noble plans to fold its Rug Studio title at the end of the year. Smith + Noble also mails the Windoware and Home Decor catalogs.

Founded in 1987 as a window treatments cataloger, Smith + Noble later expanded in to rugs, bedding, and other decor items. The company was acquired in 1998 by Cornerstone Brands, a $650 million holding company based in West Chester, OH. Cornerstone’s other properties include home products and decor catalogs Ballard Designs and Frontgate, and apparel books The Territory Ahead and TravelSmith. Smith + Noble’s core catalog targets affluent home furnishings and apparel buyers, primarily women, who spend about $250 an order.
